EXHAUSE GAS RECIRCULATOR

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is an efficient, cost effective system for reducing automotive nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The high-pressure EGR loop collects part of the exhaust gases at the cylinder head outlet and re-injects them into the engine air intake. The main benefit is that NOx is reduced at the source by limiting the quantity produced during the combustion process, rather than by post-treating the exhaust gases.

SS EXPANSION BELLOW

Expansion joints are installed in a piping system to absorb vibration and shock. They also have advantages such as reducing the noise and compensate caused by misalignment. Special expansion joints can also be designed for thermal expansion in hot applications. Fig. 16.68 shows an expansion joint. Expansion joints are usually made from metal, rubber, or braided. (Braided stainless steel hoses with flexible or metal liners are not expansion joints.) Metal expansion joints are mostly used in applications with the issue of thermal expansion. If the temperature of the pipe increases, the metal expansion joint compresses to compensate for the movement and alleviate stress from the pipe. There are a variety of material choices for metallic bellows, including stainless steel and nickel alloys.

Universal Expansion Joints consist of two bellows elements joined together by a common spool piece so it is also called as Double Bellows Expansion Joint or Universal Bellows. An Universal Expansion Joint is generally used where more lateral movement is to be absorbed which is beyond the capacity of a single Axial Expansion joint and when there is a limitation on the amount of lateral forces allowed by the connecting pipe system

RECTANGULAR UNIVERSAL EXPANSION JOINTS

The products are capable of absorbing axial movement, lateral deflection and angular rotation or any combination of these. The amount of lateral deflection that can be absorbed by a double bellows expansion joint is directly proportional to the length of the spool piece between the two bellows elements. The amount of axial movement and angular rotation an universal expansion joint can absorbs depends on the characteristic of the elements such as ply thickness, number of plies, number of convolutions, pitch of convolutions, depth of convolutions, material of construction of the bellows elements etc.

Metallic double interlock flexible hose

The stainless steel Interlock hoses are helically coiled metallic strip that is mechanically locked with the adjacent edges folded together to form interlocked convolutions (two profiled lock sections). They are used in medium pressure applications (15- 20 PSI) and can also be used as an outer jacket for insulated pipelines.

Plus, to minimize leakage and to make the hose pressure-tight, interlock flexible metal hose can be manufactured with various packing materials (fabrics and elastomer), which may be inserted along the entire length of the hose offering a protective/conduit casing.
